This is a question that comes up regularly among those who follow the circuit:  Are Agustín Tapia and Marta Ortega a couple?

This time, a slight departure from our usual routine: we're heading to the "people" section.

Because for many months, the appearances and clues surrounding  Agustín Tapia and Marta Ortega  fuels questions among some padel fans. And while the two players remain particularly discreet when it comes to their private lives, their close relationship now seems to be an increasingly less secret in the small world of professional padel.

A story that has already been going on for almost two years?

According to publicly circulating information about the two players, their relationship is not recent. It reportedly dates back to  almost two years .

However, this duration should be handled with care: neither Tapia nor Ortega have, to our knowledge, publicly detailed the chronology of their relationship or officially announced a date from which they became a couple.

And ultimately, this discretion suits them rather well.

The two champions showcase their lives as professional athletes extensively, but their private lives much less. There are no grand public pronouncements, no constant staging of their daily routines: their communication remains primarily focused on padel.

Two immense trajectories of world padel

What makes the story particularly interesting for padel fans is obviously the status of the two protagonists.

On the one hand,  Agustín Tapia , along with Arturo Coello, has become one of the dominant figures in world padel. The Argentinian has been at the top of the circuit for several seasons alongside the Spaniard and is now one of the most recognizable faces of Premier Padel.

The other,  Marta Ortega Long known as "Martita," she is one of the leading figures in Spanish women's padel. The Madrid native already boasts an immense career and a distinction rare enough to warrant mentioning: she also pursued medical studies alongside her sporting career.

In 2026, their sporting paths will obviously continue to cross every week at the same tournaments. Tapia continues his adventure with Arturo Coello while Ortega plays this season alongside the young Martina Calvo.

When the circuit becomes almost a second home

Ultimately, it wouldn't be very surprising to see a relationship develop between two professional players.

The international calendar requires the world's best to spend a large part of the year together: planes, hotels, training sessions and tournaments follow one another in all corners of the world.

Riyadh, Doha, Rome, Paris, Madrid, London… The season of Premier Padel sometimes resembles a world tour more than a classic succession of competitions.

Tapia and Ortega belong to that generation of players who live practically all year round to the rhythm of the circuit.

Therefore, a rapprochement between two of its main figures would not be implausible.

Many questions… and ultimately few answers

This is probably what has kept the curiosity surrounding the duo alive.

For several months, some fans have been scrutinizing social media, joint appearances or small details suggesting that the two champions share their lives off the track.

Without any spectacular announcement,  Tapia and Ortega seem to have chosen a different strategy: to live their story away from the media exposure that already sufficiently accompanies their sporting careers. 

And we must also respect this border.

One thing is certain: professionally, their names have been part of the global padel scene for years.

And what happens when they leave the slopes?

 It would seem that Tapia and Martita are also continuing part of the journey together.
