On French vice-champions Bastien Blanqué et Nicolas Rouanet will be competing together in a tournament for the first time FIP, on the occasion of FIP Bronze IrelandFrom November 10th to 16th. An association born almost by chance… but which had already made sparks fly.
A pair born from an unexpected event…
It all started during the French Championships 2025, when Thomas LeygueBlanqué's usual partner, had to withdraw due to injury. Called up as a replacement, Nicolas Rouanet He had seized the opportunity and it paid off handsomely.
The two men had strung together high-level performances, taking turns beating, among others Yoan Boronad / Timéo Fonteny and Tison / Forcin, before bowing in A nail-biting final against Vives/Guichard (7/6 in the 3rd set), after having two match points.
A brief but promising adventure, which clearly made the two men want to try their luck on the international stage.
Heading for the FIP Bronze Ireland
The duo will therefore be gathered for the first time internationally on the slopes of FIP Bronze Ireland, where they will be seeded 3rd. Enough to aim for a beautiful course, or even a first joint track.
This tournament will also mark a new turning point for Rouanet, increasingly present on the FIP circuit after several promising appearances and already a FIP Bronze title recently.
What comes next?
It remains to be seen whether this association is a parenthesis or a sustainable project.
Because, in parallel, Bastien Blanqué is aligned next week with the P2000 Urban Padel Carquefou with Yoan Boronad, While Johan Bergeron, its historical partner, will be involved in FIP Bronze Hong Kong with Timeo Fonteny.
So, is this just a test or a new chapter for Blanqué and Rouanet? We'll find out in Ireland. One thing is for sure: the French are getting some new partnerships, and we're hoping for good results from them.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
