Winners of Bordeaux Premier Padel After a thrilling final against Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto (5-7, 7-6, 6-2), Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia had already set the tone the day before their victory. In a press conference following their semi-final win against Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno, the world number ones spoke about their high standards, their current dominance, and their rivalry with the world number twos. In hindsight, their statements resonate even more strongly, as they seem to have foreshadowed the events of the following day.
Facing Paquito Navarro et Martín Di Nenno Coello and Tapia had to gradually raise their level before finally taking control of the match. This adaptability proved crucial in the final, where they rallied behind Galán and Chingotto after losing the first set to claim another title on the circuit. Premier Padel.
"Paquito and Martín have returned to an exceptional level."
Arthur Coello: Playing against Paquito and Martín almost forces us to revisit videos of their past matches. They displayed a level of play in this tournament very close to what it was a few years ago. Martín was extremely solid and very difficult to handle.
They started the match with much more pace than us. They were more precise right from the first few games. Our strength lay in staying calm, holding our serves, and then gradually building momentum. From there, our level really improved, and despite a difficult start, I think we played a very good match.
Regarding our third set yesterday (in the quarter-finals against Compagnolo/Momo), I think we also have to give credit to our opponents. Whenever a team takes us to a third set, we're often accused of playing poorly. However, it must be acknowledged that these teams prepare their matches against us very well. They analyze our game, find solutions, and make the matches extremely difficult.
Ultimately, what I take away most is our ability to rise to the occasion when the going gets tougher. Yesterday, our third set was probably our best of the match. We're very pleased because we adapt well to both fast and very slow tracks. I hope we can continue this momentum in the final.

"To win, we need to do a lot of things well."
Agustín Tapia: I think many teams play their best padel against us. At the start of the match, they can easily keep up the pace. But if we manage to stay solid and get a break, they often drop their intensity slightly.
We also know that even before we step onto the pitch, we are the favorites. This pressure also exists for our opponents.
Our strength lies in never giving up. Even when we lose the first set or are struggling, we keep fighting. I think we've shown this season that to compete against us, you have to play a truly great match. We never give anything away easily.
"Galán and Chingotto continue to surprise us"
Arthur Coello: That's precisely what makes this rivalry so exciting. (this 38th confrontation between Galan and Chingotto)
We have a lot of matches to analyze, including the one played here last year. But we're mainly looking at their current level and what they've shown this week.
What's interesting is that we continue to surprise each other. Each pair regularly brings new ideas, new tactical schemes. This forces us to constantly maintain the highest level of concentration.
Our preparation remains the same: a light session in the morning to regain good sensations, then an in-depth analysis with our team before the match in order to arrive ready to respond to all situations.
"The finals remain the same because everyone is improving."
Padel Magazine : Martín Di Nenno explained that the playing conditions in Bordeaux were ideal for his team. Yet you won by a considerable margin. Do you feel you still have a head start on the rest of the circuit?
Agustín Tapia: I think the results speak for themselves.
It's no coincidence that the same teams regularly reach the final. But I believe above all that everyone is improving.
When I compare our level to that of Bordeaux last year, I find that we are playing much better. Galán and Chingotto have also improved enormously.
Constantly competing against each other pushes us all to raise our game. These grand finals force us to improve, which then allows us to approach the other rounds with greater confidence.
Of course, one day someone will play better than us and eliminate us. But today, when we enter a quarter-final or a semi-final, we know we are among the favorites and we use that status as a strength.
"I suffered watching the Argentina match."
When asked about Argentina's qualification in football the previous day, Agustín Tapia did not hide the fact that he had experienced a trying evening.
Agustín Tapia: It was very hard to watch… Very stressful too. I watched the match here with a friend who was celebrating the opposing team's goals just to tease me!
I'm not sure I'll watch the next one with him… We suffered a lot, but thankfully we qualified. I hope now the team will get even stronger as the competition progresses.
