This is a turning point in women's padel. Lucia Sainz et Patty Llaguno, one of the most experienced and respected pairs on the circuit, announced their split after the Premier Padel Milan P1, where they will play their last tournament together.
An iconic pair of the circuit
Trained in September 2023, the association between the Barcelonan and Cartagena, old world number 1, will have spent more than two seasons in a circuit where stability has become rare. In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram, Lucia Sainz confirmed the news with emotion:
“The Milan tournament will be the last one I will play alongside Patricia Llaguno. They have been years of work, dedication, and mutual learning. I will remember everything we experienced together from this stage. Now it is time to face new challenges with the same enthusiasm as on the first day.”
A new chapter to come
After a short break, the two Spanish women will each go their separate ways since the New Giza P2 (October 27 – November 1), where they will make their debut with new partners.
