The ladies' final of the French Championships 2025 delivered the expected duel: Alix Collombon / Léa Godallier (TS1) face Jessica Ginier / Carla Touly (TS2)And as is often the case, it was the bosses of French padel who had the last word. Victory 6 / 3 7 / 5, synonym of 5th consecutive title together, 8th for Collombon in ten FFT editions.

A perfectly controlled start to the match

Unlike his semi-final, Léa Godallier got into the game straight away. Very solid in the exchanges, she hurts on each shot, with Collombon they are impassable in defense. The two favorites chose to target more Carla Toully, so as not to give Jessica Ginier any rhythm.
Result: a break lead and total control over their service games. Despite a good reaction at the end of the set, Touly / Ginier which are gradually beginning to rebalance the debates, they bow 6/3 in this first set.

The second set, between mastery and fear

While we expected a showdown, Collombon and Godallier started strongly with a double entry break. At 3/0. When we thought the match was over, the favorites are experiencing a real physical decline. Less lucid, multiplying unforced errors, Ginier and Touly reacted: more aggressive, they came back into the game. Ginier, formidable in parallel smash, completely restarted the set. The seed 2 came back to level then passed in front, leading 4/3.
But this is where Collombon and Godallier once again prove their status. They slow down the game, vary it more, and manage to regain control. After a few twists and turns, they finally prevail. 7/5, not without having scared himself.

The emotion of a victory… and a farewell

This coronation was celebrated with great emotion. For good reason: Alix Collombon has confirmed that these will be her last French Championships.
"I can say almost 100% that these are my last French Championships," she confided after the match, visibly moved.

Already before the tournament, the 32-year-old Lyonnaise, 24th in the world, had left doubts hanging over her future in this competition, highlighting the weight of a busy international calendar and the risk of injuries. Last year, she played with an undercover wrist injury, while Godallier ended up with a sprain. This year again, the intensity of the calendar made participation difficult to manage.

A historical domination

With this 5th consecutive title, Collombon and Godallier write a new page in their reign over French padel. For Collombon, it is the 8th consecutive title, an impressive statistic which further establishes its status as a national reference.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
