Le Germany Premier Padel P2 started in Düsseldorf with the first day of the round of 16. And already some small surprises: the Argentinian pair Tolito Aguirre / Alex Chozas fell from the start against Lucas Campagnolo and David Gala and in the women's race, the 11th and 12th seeds fall.
Tolito and Chozas are lacking results
For their penultimate tournament together, Aguirre and Chozas hoped to revive the momentum after two early eliminations in Madrid and Paris. But they missed the boat again. Beaten 6/3 7/6 by a Campagnolo and Gala solid, they are chaining a third consecutive exit in the first round.
The Argentinian duo had snatched a break at 5/3 in the second set to push to a tie-break, but they completely gave in (7/1). Another disappointment before their final appearance together scheduled for Rotterdam P1.
Other men's results: the favorites respond
With their victory David Gala and Lucas Campagnolo will find themselves in the 8th finals Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, fallers of Nachi Sager and Andrés Fernández Lancha (6/2 7/6).
In the second match, the Argentines Martin Di Nenno and Leo Augsburger (TS5) won 6/3 7/5 against Maxi Sánchez and Xisco GilThey are waiting for the winners ofArce / Lijó vs Patiniotis / Moya.
Juan Tello and Pablo Cardona also ensured by beating Agustín Torre and Álvaro Cepero (6/3 6/4). They will face the winners of Arredondo / Reina vs Paquito Navarro / Lucas Bergamini.
The Portuguese brothers Miguel and Nuno Deus dominated their match against the wild cards Agustin Reca and Guillem Figuerola (6/2 6/0). In the 8th, they will cross paths withAle Galán and Fede Chingotto (TS2), victorious 6/1 6/3 ofAntonio Fernández and Pablo Garcia.
Women's side: already some surprises
In the ladies, Carmen Goenaga and Bea Caldera have dominated Arruabarrena / Bidahorria (6/4 7/5). They will challenge the world number 3 in the 8th round, Bea González and Claudia Fernández.
Noa Cánovas and Laia Rodriguez have overturned Castelló / Rufo (3/6 7/6 6/2) and will challenge Alejandra Salazar and Martina Calvo (TS7).
Another great performance: Jimena Velasco and Raquel Eugenio offered themselves Llaguno / Sainz (3/6 6/3 7/5). They will play against Claudia Jensen and Alejandra Alonso (TS6), recent winners of the FIP Platinum Seville.
Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez got their tournament off to a perfect start by dominating the wild cards Victoria Kurz and Dora Andrejszki (6/2 6/1). In the 8th round, they will meet the seed 4, Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araújo.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match.
