Professional padel is a real playground! With several circuits that thrill fans, it's not always easy to find your way around. So, How many professional circuits are there? ? And especially, What are their differences ?
Benefit Premier Padel - A1 Padel in ambush
Padel professional in 2024 is mainly based on two major circuits who dominate the international scene:
Premier Padel : the world reference circuit
Launched in 2022 by the International Federation of Padel (FIP) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), Premier Padel quickly became the most prestigious circuit. The merger with the World Padel Tour (WPT) at the end of 2023 confirmed its dominant position.
With 24 tournaments planned for 2025, spread over 16 countries and 5 continents, Premier Padel is organized around three main categories:
- majors : the most prestigious tournaments, comparable to the Grand Slams of tennis.
- P1 et P2 : intermediate-ranking competitions which allow you to maintain a competitive level throughout the season while collecting maximum points.
Premier Padel aims to conquer new markets by expanding into regions such as Middle-East Asia and North America, thus reinforcing its role as a world-leading circuit.
A1 Padel : an ambitious alternative
Formerly known as APT Padel Tour, this circuit was renamed in A1 Padel in 2023. Unlike Premier Padel (and especially to the World Padel Tour), A1 Padel has invested in regions that are sometimes poorly covered by padel, such as certain countries ofAmerique du Sud Africa and some parts of theEurope. It is an increasingly popular circuit with its few super stars like Tolito!
A1 Padel is distinguished by:
- Competitions organized in emblematic locations.
- There’s nothing quite like a increased accessibility for players looking for progression.
Complementary competitions: FIP and World Championships
Alongside these two major circuits, other current events organized by the International Federation of Padel enrich the calendar:
The World Championships
Organized every two years, the worldwide padel brings together the best nations for an international competition. Each country sends a national selection made up of its best players in the hope of winning the title.
The FIP Tour: a springboard to the elite
The FIP Tour is a series of tournaments that offers a Gateway to professional padel, ideal for players looking to climb the ranks. The competitions are divided into several categories, according to the level, cash prize and points awarded (2025 categories):
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- Bronze
On FIP tournaments not only allow you to earn points to progress in the world ranking, but also to get invitations to the major circuits as Premier Padel.
Originally from the south of France, Nicolas had long since abandoned tennis. One summer, a friend suggested he hit the ball… without strings! He then discovered the paddle, and this is the click. Since then, he has only talked about this sport: he follows all the news, exclaims with strange words in Spanish and never lets go of his snowshoeingOne thing is certain, the southern sun must have hit him a little too hard on the head!
