What if the rumor becomes reality? According to Emilio Forcher, the project of an association between Juan Lebrón et Leo Augsburg would be again on the table, with some decisive meetings underway between the two clans. An idea that is not new: this pair was already supposed to see the light of day before the 2025 season, before Lebrón does not finally choose Franco Stupaczuk at the last moment. A decision which, according to several sources, would have caused strong tensions in the entourage of the young Argentinian, not very happy with the idea of a rapprochement with “El Lobo”.
Today, the context is very different. The relationship between Lebron and Stupaczuk seems to have weakened on the track, the signs of annoyance having multiplied during the last weeks of competition. In this climate, the hypothesis Augsburger / Lebrón resurfaces, this time with concrete discussions and mutual interest.
A pair with very strong potential
From a sporting point of view, the idea is attractive. Leo Augsburg, a true phenomenon of power and audacity, represents the future of world padel. At only 21 years old, he has already proven that he can compete with the best and impose his game without any complexes. For his part, Lebrón, despite an explosive character, remains one of the best right-wing players on the planet, able to compete with the best.
On paper, the duo Lebrón / Augsburger would have everything to form a pair spectacular and formidable, mixing the experience, speed and creativity of the Spaniard with the raw power and explosiveness of the Argentine. A combination that could aim directly the world throne, alongside the giants Tapia and Coello.
A challenge of alchemy as much as performance
The question remains of the human and tactical compatibility. Augsburger's entourage, still affected by Lebrón's turnaround last season, does not hide its reservations. But in a circuit where the changes of partners have become commonplace, pragmatism could prevail on grudges.
If the project comes to fruition, this new pair could become one of the most followed of 2026, capable of redefining the game and disrupting the hierarchy.
So, Lebrón–Augsburger, a gamble or a stroke of genius? The answer may be in the coming weeks.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
