In this interview with Fabrizio romano, Lionel Messi reveals his secret passions outside of football, especially for padel, a sport that thrills him as much as football! Between fatherly advice and pre-match routines, discover a Messi who is a fan of rackets… and not just to score goals.
A few quick questions in our style! When you are at home with your children, what do you play?
Messi : On the ball. Football is always at the heart of our games: a few small matches, passes, a few exchanges.
Do you give them advice when you see them playing ball? What do you tell them?
Messi : It depends on the moment, and it also depends on which of the three! Some are more competitive than others. They also give me advice, and sometimes criticize me when they watch one of my matches.
What other sports do you like to play besides football?
Messi : I like padel, basketball, tennis, but when it comes to playing, padel is what I prefer.
Do you have a special routine to relax before a match?
Messi : Listening to music in the locker room, drinking mate… it depends on the time of the match, but nothing special.
Your guilty pleasure when it comes to food?
Messi : Ice cream. I'm not a big foodie, but I love it.
We know you're a fan of action figures, right? Superheroes! If you had your own action figure, what superpower would you like to have?
Messi : Invisibility. Being invisible or flying.
