This weekend, the island becomes the beating heart of the Indian Ocean by hosting, for the first time, two major tournaments simultaneously : the 2nd edition of the Island Padel Cup, fraternal confrontation between Mauritius, Reunion Island and Madagascar, and the M1000 AfrAsia Bank Padel League, the high point of the national calendar, with 74 committed teams, an absolute historical record.
The origins of an island dream
Launched in 2024 in Antananarivo, the Island Padel Cup was born from the initiative of Gary Ah-Waye et Sebastien Andriantsoa, co-founder of Malagasy Pro Padel Tour.
Their ambition: to create a sporting bridge between the islands and offer the region a signature event capable of bringing together the talents of the Indian Ocean around a common passion.
Following a successful first edition in Madagascar, marked by the victory of the Malagasy men and the Réunion women, The adventure continues this year in Mauritius, with the desire to write a new chapter in this island saga.

With 74 teams registered (43 male, 24 female and 7 U15 juniors), the event becomes the biggest padel tournament ever organized in Mauritius.
For the first time, the competition takes on a regional dimension :
- 5 pairs from Réunion among men
- 2 pairs of women from Réunion registered in the men's draw
- Five Malagasy pairs came to challenge the best Mauritians on their home turf.
