In Milan, Alejandro Galán et Federico Chingotto have once again demonstrated why they are hard to beat. Opposed to Martín Di Nenno et Leo Augsburg, world number 2 fought a big battle to win 7 / 6 6 / 4. A success which propels them for their 12th season finale, fourth consecutive, and above all, a new showdown announced against Tapia and Coello, their rivals for almost 2 years.
From the start, Di Nenno and Augsburger set the pace
The start of the match was totally to the advantage of the Argentinians. Di Nenno, imperial in its diagonal, suffocates Chingotto, who himself recognizes him on the bench. Gallant, a tone below, struggles to make an impact in the exchange. Opposite, Augsburger multiplies the winning shots and imposes his rhythm.
But at 3/4, Galán decides to come and support his partner on the right diagonal. The exchanges lengthen, the defense settles in, and Augsburger, ends up rushing and is countered. The break is made, the duo regains confidence, and the set stretches to a tie-breaker, won by Galán and Chingotto, more solid in the important points.
Experience takes over
The second act is more balanced. Di Nenno slightly decrease in intensity, Augsburgers is well muzzled, and signs of fatigue appear. The world number 6 hold on until 4/4, even leading 40-15 on their service, but that's where the Galán / Chingotto pair shows all its strength: they come back into the game, they break, then a controlled service game to conclude 7 / 6 6 / 4.
“Federico carried me today. He was the one who supported me when I was struggling,” Galán admitted after the match.
Chingotto grew in strength throughout the match, increasingly weighing on the track to offer his partner opportunities to close the points.
A fourth final in a row against Tapia and Coello

They will be at the FIP Platinum Lyon, Then the Newgiza P2 (Egypt), where they will be seeded 1 in the absence of Tapia and Coello. A godsend to pick up precious points and get closer to the Golden Boys in the world rankings.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
