Paquito Navarro et Jon sanz will see the grand final of the Newgiza P2, after a hard-fought victory against Javi leal et Lucas Bergamini (6/1 4/6 7/5). A well-deserved qualification at the end of a match full of intensity, tension and twists and turns, which lasted more than two hours on the Cairo center court.
A blistering start by Navarro / Sanz
From the first exchanges, Paquito et Sanz set the tone. Focused and aggressive, they take control of the game. Jon Sanz, nicknamed the “DJ”, reels off the winning points and dominates in all attacking phases. On the other side, Loyal et Bergamini struggle to find their rhythm and suffer from the constant pressure imposed by the Spanish duo.
Result: three consecutive breaks and a first set wrapped up in barely 30 minutes (6/1). A perfect start for Navarro and Sanz, who displayed total control.
The awakening of the Leal/Bergamini duo
But the reaction was swift. The Brazilian Lucas BergaminiSharper at the net, raises his voice. His young partner Javi leal regains his composure, dares more and breaks the opponent's rhythm with beautiful variations.
The Spanish-Brazilian duo gradually gained confidence and reversed the momentum. More precise in the longer rallies, they took advantage of a drop in intensity from their opponents to break at 5-4 and clinch the second set 6/4completely revitalizing the match.

An end of the match under high tension
The third set promises to be explosive, and it will be. The two pairs trade blows: a break everywherespectacular points, and a captivated Egyptian public.
At 5-5, everything seems to be heading towards a tie-break, but Sanz and Navarro find the opening At the perfect moment. Sanz launches a series of diagonal attacks, while Paquito uses his touch to finish the points. A final break seals the match: 7/5 in the third, after 2 hours and 05 minutes of play.
Sanz/Navarro: a new pair taking shape
This victory marks a turning point for the recently formed duo. This is their first final together on the circuit Premier Padeland a personal revenge for both men.
Paquito, who had started the season alongside Bergamini, faced his former partner for the first time since their split after the German tournament. As for Jon Sanz, he too was reunited with an old acquaintance. In 2024, he had already faced Bergamini in the semi-final in New Giza, at the time associated with Coki Nieto, and had bowed out.
One year later, the scenario is reversed. Navarro and Sanz secure their place in the final and will challenge the world number 2 Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, authors of a perfect run so far.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
