On world number 1, Delfina Brea et Gemma Triay, trembled but qualified once again for the final after beating Claudia jensen et Alejandra Alonso in the semi-final (6/7 6/2 6/4).

A first set hung

The match had started well for Brea and Triay, who led 4-1. But the Spanish and Argentinian outsiders didn't give up: they came back and snatched a tiebreak. Better still, they had the luxury of winning the first set 7-6.

The reaction of the number 1s

The favorites, who were pushed back, immediately responded in the second set. Stronger and more settled in the exchange, they clearly dominated to equalize (6/2) and revive the match.

A tense end to the match

In the final set, Brea and Triay quickly took the lead (5/2). But just like in the first, Jensen and Alonso didn't give up and came back to 5/4. Finally, the world number 1s tightened up their game at the right time to break one last time and finish 6/4.

The stats speak

If Jensen and Alonso put a lot of intensity, they distinguished themselves with 64% of break points converted, Brea and Triay they converted them 53%.

A brilliant Claudia Jensen

The young Argentinian has once again made an impression. Thanks to the quality of her millimeter lob, Jensen managed to disrupt Triay's pattern and push Brea away from the net. Her match once again confirmed that she is capable of competing with the best.

The keys to remember

  • Brea / Triay chain their 4rd consecutive final.
  • They have already argued 11 finals this season for 8 titles won.
  • It's here 15th semi-final played together (12 wins – 3 losses).
  • Jensen and Alonso, for their part, played their 3rd semi-final in Premier Padel but have still not reached the final. They had, however, recently shone with a title at the FIP Platinum of Seville.

Time for the final

Gemma Triay will therefore play in a new final in Rotterdam, a year after failing to reach the 2024 final (Brea was absent that year due to Bea González's injury). This time, she will be accompanied by Delfi Brea, with the ambition of winning another title.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
