The adventure of Blue Seniors team competition ended this Saturday in European Championship final in Valencia. Opposed to a Spain favorite, the French women failed to create the feat and lost 4-1, thus giving the title to La Roja.
A one-way finish
The Spanish quickly took the lead:
- +55 years: Eva Gayoso / Pilar Santibáñez fight Géraldine Sorel / Catherine Bignotti (6/0 6/2)
- +50 years: Barbara Alcántara / Icíar Montes dominate Céline Verdier / Emmelien Lambregts (6/4 6/2)
- +45 years: Lorena Figueres / Carolina Gago impose themselves in the face of Amélie Detrivière / Catherine Lalanne (6/4 6/3)
With these three victories, Spain was already assured of the title, the last two meetings no longer being able to influence the final result.
The following matches were still launched:
- +40 years: Nuria Rivas / Lorena Alonso lead 7/6 3/0 against Marie Lefevre / Julie Pécastaing, before the French women drop to preserve their strength for the Open Pairs final.
- +35 years: Mélissa Martin / Charlotte Soubrié impose themselves in the face of Cristina Gomis / Lara Tena (1/6 7/6 1/0).
A deserved silver medal

After the collective money, the Blues will have a great opportunity to aim for gold individually.
