The separation is now official… or maybe not.  Eliminated in their first match at  Valladolid P2  by  Xisco Gil  et  Manu Castaño  ( 4/6 6/3 6/3 ),  Tolito Aguirre  et  Álex Arroyo  were supposed to play their last tournament together before going their separate ways. Yet, surprisingly, the two men are still among the pairs registered for the  Malaga P1 , the tournament that will follow the  Bordeaux P2 , where Tolito is nevertheless announced with  Rama Valenzuela A change of plans? A registration that hasn't yet been modified? Or another reversal? It's hard to know for sure. One thing is certain: the handling of this separation raises as many questions as the pair's results this season.

 A season far from expectations 

When Tolito Aguirre and Álex Arroyo decided to join forces, many envisioned a pair capable of establishing themselves permanently among the best on the circuit. However, their performance has fallen far short of expectations.

On the circuit  Premier Padel The results essentially boil down to a  semi-final at P2 in Cancún in a tournament marked by a very particular context. For the rest, eliminations in the first or second round multiplied, without ever managing to string together a convincing run.

Their main source of satisfaction remains their victory at the  London Silver FIP where they had dominated  William Collado  et  Pol Hernández  in the final. Another line on their record, but insufficient given the potential of the two players.

 Tolito is still looking for the right formula 

Since his departure from the circuit  A1 Padel ,  Tolito Aguirre  had experienced a meteoric rise on  Premier Padel  in 2025, notably alongside  Gonzalo Alfonso .

But since the end of that partnership, the Argentinian has struggled to find a partner capable of allowing him to sustainably aim for the  Top 20 worldwide .

Only at  28 years Tolito still has plenty of room for improvement. In recent months, he has shown his desire to take his game to the next level by working on his physical condition, even losing several kilos to gain explosiveness on the track.

His talent is undeniable. However, he still lacks the consistency that allows the best to perform week after week.

 Arroyo, immense potential but still too inconsistent 

Conversely, we sometimes forget that Álex Arroyo  only has  24 years .

The 1,88m tall Spaniard possesses all the qualities to establish himself among the best players in the world.  2024 he had joined the  Top 15 worldwide  after a very successful season alongside Eduardo Alonso .

His offensive game is among the most spectacular on the circuit. Few players possess such powerful smashes combined with such excellent hand skills.

But Arroyo still suffers from a lack of consistency, particularly mentally. Capable of dominating the best when he's confident, he can also completely lose his focus and his way through the game, to the point of becoming unrecognizable.

This is probably what prevented this association with Tolito from really taking off.

 A new gamble with Rama Valenzuela… before a reunion? 

For now,  Tolito Aguirre  is eagerly awaited at  Bordeaux P2  with  Rama Valenzuela , young Argentinian from  79th in the world .

An ambitious, but also risky choice. With a lower-ranked pair, Tolito will regularly have to start further back in the draws and will no longer benefit from seeded status in many tournaments.

It now remains to be seen what will happen next. If the registrations for  Malaga P1  remain unchanged, Tolito would find…  Álex Arroyo  starting the following week. A rather surprising situation, which only adds to the uncertainty surrounding this separation.

One thing is certain: both players are more than capable of aiming much higher. They just need to find stability, both on and off the track.
