Aranzazu Osoro: “Final Master Objective in 2021”

World number 16 in Race 2020 as well as in the ranking, Aranzazú Osoro had a very good end of the season alongside his short-lived teammate Carolina Navarro Björk. Now associated with Victoria Iglesias, Argentina has great ambitions and the pre-season confirms its intentions to join the clan of the 8 best pairs in the world.

Le World Padel Tour starts in a short month and appetites are keen. Aranzazú Osorio is no exception. The 2nd best Argentinian behind Delfi Brea comes out of a particularly encouraging end of the year 2020. With Carolina Navarro Björk looking for a replacement after this Reiter's injury, she finished the season with a bang and remains on a very good series: a 1/2 final at the Barcelona Master, followed by three consecutive 1/4 final at the Alicante and Las Rozas Open and at the Menorca Master Final . Her jump in the standings was immense: from 27th place when she moved with Teresa Navarro, to 16th.

Returned to Paraná, her hometown south of Santa Fe, the backhand player recharged her batteries before returning to Europe. In an interview with Uno Entrerios, she mentioned this cut: “I took a few extra days of vacation. I was supposed to leave earlier but I stayed longer, especially given everything that is happening in Spain with the coronavirus and the measures that have been taken ”.

High goals with Victoria Iglesias

This extension of stay which is accompanied by a busy preseason carried out at the Recreativo de Paraná: “I am happy with the work we are doing and what we started a month and a half ago. In Argentina, I played exhibition matches and with friends to please me. In fact, I come back to the country to relax and enjoy myself with the family ”.

Given the health context in Spain, it is important for her to decompress before having a quarantine as a welcome gift: “According to the government, it will last 15 days when I arrive. We must fulfill this obligation and above all respect the imposed standards ”.

At 24, the adopted Barcelona woman wants to grow up and to establish itself in the long term among the best players in the world. Bluntly, she reveals her lofty ambitions: “The goal is to be in the top 8 pairs. Currently we are the 10th with Victoria Iglesias, my new playing partner ”.

Present at the Master Final 2020 with Carolina Navarro, Aranzazu Osoro has every intention of returning in 2021 with Victoria Iglesias!
