Ari Sánchez  continues to write her own story. In Rotterdam, the Catalan secured her  100th final in professional career  after the victory obtained with  Andrea Ustero  face  Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea ,  6 / 2 6 / 3 .

At 29, Sánchez thus becomes  the youngest player to reach this symbolic milestone of 100 finals .

An impressive milestone that places her in a very exclusive circle, alongside, in particular,  Gemma Triay  et  Alejandra Salazar  among the players still active.

A 100th final in style

The symbolism is all the more powerful given that this 100th final was won against...  world number 1 .

With Andrea Ustero, Ari Sánchez delivered a very high-level semi-final against Triay / Brea.

The Spanish pair won.  6 / 2 6 / 3 , with Ari making very accurate choices and Ustero being particularly aggressive despite rather slow playing conditions.

A victory that also puts an end to a negative streak: Sánchez/Ustero had lost their  three previous confrontations  against Triay / Brea, in Bordeaux, London and Madrid.

An association that is growing very quickly

This performance mainly confirms the very positive momentum of the new pair.

Since the beginning of their partnership,  Ari Sánchez / Andrea Ustero  quickly developed automatic responses.

They have now reached the final in Rotterdam after already achieving a great result in Paris.

Ustero continues to show that she can perfectly integrate at this level, while Sánchez brings all her experience and ability to handle important moments.

A funny scene to mark history

The little anecdote from this 100th final came just after match point.

Ari Sánchez went back to sit on the bench, convinced that the game was not over.

She thought the score was still  5/2 , before realizing a few seconds later that the encounter was indeed over.

A rather funny scene to accompany a moment that was nevertheless very important in his career.

Josemaría / González for the title

In the final, Sánchez / Ustero will find  Paula Josemaría / Bea González .

The tournament's number 2 players dominated  Claudia Fernández / Martina Calvo  in two sets,  6 / 3 6 / 4 .

Josemaría / González will try to go and get their  seventh title of the season , while Sánchez / Ustero will be aiming for another big success after their victory against the world number 1s.

For Ari Sánchez, this final will inevitably have a special flavor.

100 career finals, at only 29 years old, and yet another opportunity to add another trophy to an already immense list of achievements.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
