Bastien Blanqué et Joan Bergeron take the place of French number 1, passing in front Thomas Leygue in the FIP rankings. A somewhat unusual return to the top, since it comes in a difficult context for both players and against a backdrop of injury for their compatriot.
A somewhat symbolic first place
The duo is currently going through a somewhat complicated period, with three consecutive eliminations in the first round on the international circuit. However, this week, Blanqué and Bergeron have won a place in the ranking to point to the 111th worldwide, perfectly equal.
For its part, Thomas Leygue, still recovering from his injury at theItaly Major, continues to lose points week after week and now drops to the 118th place in the world. Its recovery is not expected before 2026, thus leaving the field open to his compatriots.
Good news despite everything
Even if this first national place is above all symbolic, it remains a satisfaction for Blanqué and Bergeron, which confirm their regularity over the long term.
In the ladies, Alix Collombon unsurprisingly retains its status as French number 1, always 27e.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
