It's that Monday, October 6 in Valencia that the beginnings European championships of padel seniors, a competition that will bring together the best European nations in the categories +35, +40, +45, +50 and +55, both in men and women.
The French will participate in both in the team championship et in the pairs championship, with a strong and experienced delegation, determined to play a leading role throughout the week.
+35: Forcin and Maigret headline
In the category +35, France will be able to count on major players: Maxime Forcin (n°14), Adrien Maigret (n°24) et Benoît Théard (n°25).
A formidable trio, led by two players who could even have claimed a place in the great French team.
+40: a team without Scatena but ambitious
The category +40 will be led by Morgan Mannarino (No. 31), also captain of the selection. He will be accompanied by Norman Sanchez (No. 34) et Mathieu Armagnac (n°66).
A notable absence: that of Jérémy Scatena, which is not part of the selection.
+45: Clément and Di Pasquale, well-known names
The category +45 attracts attention with the presence of two former great names of French tennis, Arnaud Clement et Arnaud Di Pasquale, next to Julien Datcharry (n°85).
+50 and +55: experience at the service of the collective
En +50, France will be represented by Christophe Henry, Frédéric Loriedo and Nicolas Kischkewitz.
En +55, we will find Olivier Launo, Olivier Romary and Jean-Marc Lagloire.
Very competitive French players
On the women's side, the selection led by Amelie Detriviere presents a beautiful homogeneity and several headliners.
En +35, Charlotte Soubrié (n°5) et Melissa Martin (#15) will lead the charge. In +40, France will rely on Marie Lefevre (n°10) et Deborah Alquier (No. 6), two members of the French top 10 as well as on Julie Pecastaing.
The captain Amelie Detriviere, accompanied by Catherine Lalanne, will represent the category +45, while in +50, Emmeline Lambregts, Celine Verdier et Alexandra Fouquet will try to share their experience.
Finally, in +55, Géraldine Sorel, Nathalie Mancion et Catherine Bignotti complete a complete and ambitious team.
An intense week ahead
With experienced players, some still very active on the FIP or French circuit, France presents himself to Valencia with beautiful ambitions in all categories.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match.
