Currently you can follow the Santiago Premier Padel P1, the tournament of the week in Chile which has already delivered lots of surprises. For the occasion, the FIP's Research and Data Analysis Department took a closer look at the development of padel in Chile and, one thing is certain, the country is not to be forgotten when talking about padel!
When we think of South American padel countries, we immediately turn to Argentina, of course, with all its legends… and Brazil, with a certain Pablo Lima in particular. We often forget Chile, which, however, deserves a little look.
In Chile, there are more than 550 clubs, with 2 tracks to play and several hundred thousand amateur players. Professional level, Chile is the fourth country in the world after Spain, Italy and Argentina to have the most players in the men's and women's FIP rankings: 177 men and 62 women.
Currently, the highest ranked Chilean is Javier valdes, ranked 55th in the world, who reached the second round of the main draw at the Santiago P1. In particular, he was the first Chilean player to play in a quarter-final on the WPT.

When it comes to international competitions, Chile is not left out. Since the creation of CUPRA FIP Tour, 19 tournaments have already taken place in Chile, including eleven for men and eight for women. Half were played between this year and last year: six in 2023 and already four in 2024. We also saw events of the World Padel Tour and the A1.
In short, Chile is, like Argentina, a true land of padel.
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
