The first ones  round of 16  du  FIP Silver Narbonne  have already provided their share of great fights. While several French players had to concede defeat to seeded players, some came very close to pulling off a major upset.

Raichman and Vanbauce shook up the 6th seed

It was one of the French matches of the morning. Facing the 6th seed, composed of  Franco Da Bianco  et  Maximo Maldonado ,  Philemon Raichman  et  Thomas Vanbauce  delivered a top-level performance.

After winning the first set 6-3, the Argentinians completely turned the match around by winning the second set 6-1. Their opponents included, among others...  Franco Da Bianco , former number 1 on the circuit  A1 Padel .

The third set remained close, but the Argentinian pair ultimately used their experience to secure the victory.  3/6 6/1 6/4 A frustrating defeat, especially since the French came so close to knocking out one of the tournament's top seeds.

Maigret and Bergeron fall with honors

Another fine example of French resistance is that of  Johan Bergeron  et  Adrien Maigret  facing the 3th seed,  Martin abud  et  Marcos Gonzalez Blanco .

Led by an excellent start to the match from Adrien Maigret and a particularly solid Johan Bergeron, especially in defense and very effective on the  By 3 The French duo held their own against their opponents for a long time.

But the consistency and solidity of the third seed ultimately made the difference. Abud and Gonzalez Blanco won in two sets.  7 / 5 6 / 4 , at the end of a match that was much more closely contested than the score suggests.

Boronad and Fonteny secure the win, Joris and Pillon turn the tables

Among the good news from France,  Yoan Boronad  et  Timeo Fonteny The 10th seed controlled their opening match against the qualifiers.  François Authier  et  Pierre-Vincent . Victory  6 / 3 7 / 6  for the French pair.

Another qualification, that of  Lucas Pillon  et  Maxime Joris Trailing by a set against the qualifiers  Maxime Deloyer  et  Jerzy Janowicz They found the resources to reverse the trend and prevail.  6/7 7/6 6/2 .

Finally  Theo Suzanna  et  Tristan Piombo  take advantage of the abandonment of  Vasileios Sioulis  et  Rayane Akram Hamou  while they were leading  6/1  in the first round.

Perrot and Huard fall after a fierce battle

Invited by the organization,  Nathan Perrot  et  Sacha Huard of the Marre  fought a big fight against  Sergi Guimet Bigas  et  Bart Van Opstal .

After losing the first set in a tiebreak, the French rallied to take the second, before succumbing in a tight third set. Final score:  7/6 5/7 7/5 .

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
