On the occasion of Paris Major Premier Padel 2025 Spanish Tourist Office (Turespaña) hosted professionals to present its padel offerings. The goal: to show that Spain is not only the leading nation in this sport, but also an ideal destination for... families who want to discover or improve their padel skills.
Padel, an intergenerational sport
According to Stéphane Rodriguez (X3Padel)Madrid has become a rallying point for families:
"For the past two years, we've had more and more families coming to do training courses. Padel is played by people from 7 to 77 years old; it's a sport where parents and children share the same passion, while enjoying the city."
This approach illustrates the rise of family sports tourismwhich enriches the cultural and urban offerings of major Spanish capitals.
Family-friendly resorts and academies
In Tenerife, Raquel Galván Aparicio (Precise Hotels) reminds that "50% of our clientele are families.". With its 4 glass padel courts and 3 clay tennis courts, Precise Resort Tenerife combines sun, sport and relaxation in an ideal setting for all ages.
The same situation was observed in Villena, in the province of Alicante. Iñaki Etxegia Centenera (JC Ferrero Equelite Academy) Explain :
“Families are a key segment. Our academy offers tennis, padel, hotel, swimming pool and other facilities, allowing us to offer each member a tailored experience.”
A rapidly growing market
In Spain, there are now more than 17 padel courts spread across approximately 4 clubs (source: International Federation of Padel, 2024). Spain is thus the country in the world offering the largest number of infrastructures, accessible all year round thanks to its climate.
This dynamic also benefits private operators such as Seville Padel Experience. Alejandro Gomez highlighted :
"In three years, we've gone from a few clients to over 2,000 tourists per year. Demand is booming, and we plan to expand our facilities to meet this growth, especially among families."
Spain, the capital of padel tourism
With over 94 million international visitors in 2024 (Source: Turespaña), Spain remains one of the world's top tourist destinations. Adding padel to that... family experiencethe country is strengthening its attractiveness to the French and Europeans.
internships in Madrid, resort stays in Tenerife, or even multisport academies like Equelite The formulas are numerous, but the promise remains the same. Padel is becoming an activity family-friendly, fun and sporty, perfectly integrated into Spanish tourism.
