The best player in the world, Edorta De Anta, associated to Topher Trivino, won in Tarbes after three days of intense competition at theOPEN CUPRA PYRENEES PADEL CHAIR. In the facilities of theARSENAL Padel, the best French, Spanish and Dutch players faced off. Twelve pairs battled for three days, offering a breathtaking spectacle. The spectators present were able to appreciate the dexterity of the players, capable of handling their chairs while playing paddle at an exceptional level.
From the first matches, a hierarchy was established, and it was clear that the four seeded pairs would be at the semi-finals. The organizers were able to offer an exceptional semi-final opposing the French champions Navarro – Vanlerberghe in pairs Giammartini (FR) – Ammerlaan (PB). After a tactical match lasting more than 2h30, the most experienced pair, with multiple Paralympic titles, won against the reigning French champions. This duo will have the honor of facing the big favorites of the competition, Edorta De Anta et Topher Trivino, winners of their semi-final against Aitor Elorduy, winner of the first edition, and his teammate Juanfran Lopez, ranked fifth in Spain.

On Thursday morning, excitement reigned on and off the court. Everyone wondered if the underdog team could bring down the best pair in the world. The suspense was short-lived. The Spaniards imposed a hellish pace from the start, stunning their opponents, who would recognize their superiority. Unsurprisingly, the Spaniards won in two sets, confirming their status as masters of the discipline. Jean-Michel Barta, the tournament organizer, will acknowledge that the best won, but will emphasize that this type of tournament allows French players to learn and gain experience. The proof is in the pair Navarro – Vanlerberghe, who will finish in third place in the tournament.
On Tuesday evening, an exhibition between an able-bodied player and a wheelchair player demonstrated that it is possible to play together despite our differences. Thanks to Mathieu, Alexis, Rémi et Kévin for having agreed to participate.
From the organizers' point of view, this edition is very satisfactory, with a high level of play and a growing enthusiasm for the tournament. The players have highlighted the quality of the facilities of theARSENAL Padel and the kindness of the volunteers, who did everything to ensure that the participants were in the best possible conditions.
The ambition of the event is to become sustainable and an unmissable event on the French circuit. An ambition that cannot be achieved without the help of partners.
