Au FIP Bronze of Almeirim, the French Laura Buteau, associated with the Portuguese Rita Vilaça, won his first victory against a seeded on the FIP circuitThis success allows him to access his first international semi-final.
A constructed victory
In the quarter-finals, the Franco-Portuguese duo won in three sets against Elsa Terranova et Maria Arteaga (TDS No. 7) after a hard-fought match. “We made two breaks in the first set, which we won 6/2. The second was closer, with a more irregular and passive game that cost us the set 4/6. We then changed our plan to be more aggressive and better positioned, and at 4-3, we made the decisive break to conclude 6/3,” explained his coach. Alexandre Prevert.
This qualification comes after the Laura's first three weeks of training at the French coach's HAYES ACADEMY. "It's a team effort that's starting to translate on the pitch," he explains.
A structured development project
Before joining Barcelona, Laura had spent several seasons in Portugal. "She was very well trained technically, particularly by Manel Silva à Direct Padel, who did an excellent job. My role now is to help him understand his game, adapt to his qualities and better manage competitive situations,” adds Alexandre.
The monitoring is precise and methodical. "We analyzed our opponents' previous matches and worked on their reflexes with his partner. It's a comprehensive approach, combining technical, tactical, and mental preparation."
Concerning Rita Vilaça, the current partner, Alexandre underlines "an intelligent player, attentive, who integrates directly and perfectly into the project. The balance between Laura on the left and Rita on the right works very well, each adapts to the team dynamic, we must continue to move forward."
A semi-final against Fernandes and Silva
In the semi-finals, Buteau and Vilaça will find the Portuguese Mafalda Fernandes and Alexandra Silva, seeded No. 8. See you in the final in the afternoon for Laura? On the other side of the draw, it's the legend Carolina Navarro who will seek to join the French.
"It's a new test against a strong pair, but also a good opportunity to assess the real progress made since the start of the season," concludes Alexandre Prévert.
