End of course for Dylan Guichard and Manuel Vives au FIP Platinum Lyon, beaten hard by Teo Zapata and Francisco Cabeza Teres on the score of 6 / 2 6 / 1A logical defeat against a more solid Spanish pair, but which does not call into question the good dynamic of recent French champions.
A good start before the turning point of the first set
The French started the match well. United and aggressive, they managed to hook their opponents in the first games. At 3/2, everything is still open, but a break conceded changes the situation.
Behind, the Spaniards raise their voices: Zapata and Cabeza impose their rhythm, accelerate and show off their power with the smash. For their part, Manuel Vives et Dylan Guichard made more errors, especially on the volley, which allowed the Spanish top seed to quickly conclude the first set 6/2.
A second one-sided set
The momentum continued in the second set. Zapata and Cabeza continued their game, racking up winning points and taking advantage of any French lapses. Stronger, more precise, and above all, more consistent, the Spaniards left no openings and sealed the match 6-1.

A great dynamic despite everything
Despite this clear defeat, Guichard and Vives confirm their current good form. After their title at the French Championships, the two players showed in Lyon that they could compete, in sequences, with pairs from the European top.
They leave with 25 FIP points, a valuable gain, especially for Manuel Vives, who continues to climb the rankings after a difficult period marked by injury.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
