The second round of men's qualifying for the  FIP Platinum Lyon  has delivered its verdict. Several French players saw their run end, but two French pairs remain in contention to reach the main draw:  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin  et  Yoan Boronad / Jérémy Robert .

For the women, the first round of qualifications is also over and several French women will now enter the competition this afternoon.

Bergeron/Seurin solid against Vanbauce

On the central track,  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin (TS4)  had to work hard in the face of  Thomas Vanbauce / Lucas Miranda Santos .

The first set went to a tie-break, won by Bergeron/Seurin. After that, the fourth seed took control and closed out the match in two sets.  7 / 6 6 / 4 .

They are now just one win away from the main draw. In the final round, they will face  Sergio Nieto Simon / Douglas Rutgersson (TS6) , who dominated  Pierre Vincent / Damien Bayard 6/3 6/3 .

Boronad and Robert are present

Same success for  Yoan Boronad / Jérémy Robert (TS7) .

Opposed to  Sacha Huard de La Marre / Nathan Perrot They won a hard-fought first set in a tie-break before taking a larger lead in the second set:  7 / 6 6 / 3 .

The final round promises to be challenging against  Pau Miñano / Ferran Insa (TS2) .

The Spanish lived up to expectations against  Manuel Vives / Olivier Guy de Chamisso , beaten  6 / 4 6 / 4 .

Blanqué / Joris and Muesser / Hugounenq stop

However, the day ended more quickly for  Bastien Blanqué / Maxime Joris (TS8) .

Facing the Italians  Lorenzo Di Giovanni / Giuseppe Fino The French were unable to establish their game and lost.  6 / 3 6 / 2 .

Same result for  Arthur Hugounenq / Yanis Muesser who faced a major challenge against  Miguel Lamperti / Octavio Álvarez (TS3) .

After losing the first round  6/3 The French pushed their opponents to a tie-break in the second set, but the third seed finished the job:  6 / 3 7 / 6 .

The other favorites are holding their own.

In other encounters,  Manuel Aragón / Albert Roglan (TS1)  needed a tie-break in the first set before dominating  Andres Graupera / Bentahor Espino Mustafa 7/6 6/3 .

Alejandro Calvo Pérez / João Maria Caiano (TS5)  For their part, they only left five games to  Matteo Rosingana / Filippo Nicocia , with a victory  6 / 3 6 / 2 .

The four matches of the final men's round will therefore be:

Nieto Simon / Rutgersson (TS6) vs Bergeron / Seurin (TS4)
 Boronad / Robert (TS7) vs Miñano / Insa (TS2)
Aragón / Roglan (TS1) vs Calvo Pérez / Caiano (TS5)
Álvarez / Lamperti (TS3) vs Di Giovanni / Fino

For the French, there remains  two chances to join the main draw directly .

Pothier / Robinson Andrianafetra move up to the women's category

In the women's competition, the first round of qualifying has also delivered its first results.

Lucile Pothier / Fitia Robinson Andrianafetra  negotiated their entry into the competition well against  Lucie Vichier / Amanda Pestre Grange , with a victory  6 / 4 6 / 2 .

They will now find  Cassandra Senjean / Manon Marcarie (TS4)  in the second round.

In other encounters,  Marta Eugenio Barrera / Carlota Sanchez Gonzalez  have dominated  Ruth Petit Segarra / Aina Etxebarria 6/1 7/5 . They will face  Lou Lambert Agosti / Kimy Barla (TS2) .

Finally  Raluca Sandu / Eva Marcus  imposed themselves  6 / 4 7 / 5  face  Giuditta Beltrami / Michela Zaccagnini  and will find again  Giulia Pisano / Bruna Albuquerque Melo (TS3) .

Several French women are still in the race

Cassandra Senjean / Manon Marcarie (TS4) vs Lucile Pothier / Fitia Robinson Andrianafetra

Lou Lambert Agosti / Kimy Barla (TS2) vs Marta Eugenio Barrera / Carlota Sanchez Gonzalez

The men, for their part, will play their  third and final round , with a place in the main draw directly in play.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
