The French are well represented this week at  FIP Silver Caltanissetta  in Italy, with  two pairs qualified for the quarter-finals  and a third eliminated with honors against very strong opposition.

Touly on display before a major test

In the ladies,  Carla Toully  realizes a  perfect start to the tournament .

Associated with  Camila Fassio She initially dominated the Italian women.   Pezzillo / Beltrami   on the score of  6 / 0 6 / 1 .
The same scenario played out in the round of 16 against the Germans.  Plümer / Hering swept away  6 / 0 6 / 1 .

Balance sheet:  2 games conceded in two matches .

But in the quarter-finals, the level will clearly rise. The Franco-Spanish pair will face the  4th seed Casali / Dominguez Garcia .

A real test to confirm this perfect start to the tournament.

Match scheduled  not before 16:30 p.m. on court 4

Bergeron / Fonteny solid and ambitious

At men's,  Johan Bergeron  et  Timeo Fonteny  They too continue on their way.

They will face Italy in the round of 16.  Di Giovanni / Iacovino The French delivered a solid performance to secure the victory.  7 / 5 6 / 2 .

In the quarter-finals, they were given an interesting draw against the  8th seed Mena / Gonzalez .

On paper, it's  a very balanced match , with a real opportunity to reach a semi-final in this FIP Silver.

Match scheduled  not before 17pm on centre court

Rouanet/Sichez stopped by the number 1 seed

The third French pair still in contention,  Nicolas Rouanet / Romain Sichez had launched his tournament well.

They had won their opening match against the Poles.   Bartusek / Skonieczny   on the score of  6 / 2 6 / 2 .

But in the round of 16, the task proved too great. Facing the  seeded 1 Javi Ruiz / Gonzalo Rubio , two players from the  world top 50 The French bow down  6 / 1 6 / 2 .

A complicated match, but  logical when faced with a pair of this caliber .

 Ambitions for the future

With  Touly / Fassio  et  Bergeron / Fonteny  still in contention,  The French team can aim higher  in Caltanissetta.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
