Thomas Vanbauce / Lucas Miranda Santos are currently having an exceptional tournament at  FIP Silver Slam Collbató in Barcelona. And yet, at the start of the competition, few observers would have bet on the Franco-Spanish pair.

From the moment they entered the competition, the draw gave them no respite, with a first round against...  Albert Trillas / Sergio Nieto The two men finally prevailed after a grueling three-set battle:  6/7 6/4 6/4 .

In the round of 16, Vanbauce and Miranda Santos once again had to dig deep against the No. 4 seed, the Spanish-Italian pair.  Simone Cremona / Jaume Romera Once again, they prevailed after a nail-biting finish:  6/4 1/6 7/5 .

The Franco-Spanish pair have therefore reached the quarterfinals, with a draw that now seems more open. Indeed, the No. 7 seeds, the French  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin were unfortunately eliminated in two sets by  Francisco Jurado / Alejandro Garcia  ( 6 / 4 7 / 6 ).

Of course, Vanbauce and Miranda Santos will first need to recover physically after two very demanding matches. But they will have a great opportunity against a pair that, on paper, seems within their reach.

This quarter-final will also have a special significance for Thomas Vanbauce, who will be eager to avenge his French compatriots. Indeed,  Fran Jurado  et  Ale garcia  have only eliminated French players since the start of the tournament: first  Théo Suzanna / Tristan Piombo  in the round of 32 ( 6 / 4 7 / 5 ), then  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin  in the round of 16 ( 6 / 4 7 / 6 ).

Join us tomorrow at 10am to follow this very important quarter-final.
