The start of the day brought mixed emotions for the French players competing in the FIP Tour. While Thomas Vanbauce saw his impressive run cut short in Collbató due to his partner's injury, several other French players continue their journey. Bastien Blanqué and Maxime Joris qualified for the quarterfinals in Italy, as did Manuel Vives and Olivier Guy de Chamisso in Jersey. On the women's side, Camille Sireix will also be in the quarterfinals. 

Vanbauce stopped in his tracks at Collbató

 Thomas Vanbauce's great week unfortunately ended with a twist of fate. 

Associated to  Lucas Miranda The Frenchman was playing his quarter-final against  Francis Jury  et  Alejandro Garcia  when his Spanish partner, weakened by illness, was forced to retire during the second set. The Franco-Spanish pair was then trailing  6 / 2 2 / 1 .

A frustrating end, given the excellent tournament the Franco-Spanish pair were having. After a few difficult weeks for Thomas Vanbauce, marked in particular by the end of his partnership with Julien Seurin, this run to the quarterfinals is nonetheless a very encouraging sign. His understanding with Lucas Miranda already seemed well established, and this week in Spain suggests promising prospects for the future.

Touly and Bahurel fall with honor

In the ladies,  Carla Toully  et  Xenia Vidiella The sixth seeds were unable to find a solution against the tournament favorites.  Carolina orsi  et  Patricia Llaguno , which have imposed themselves  6 / 2 6 / 4 .

For its part,  Louise Bahurel , associated with  Ivet Val Lopez She once again came very close to a major result. After eliminating the No. 8 seed in the previous round, the Franco-Spanish player delivered another very convincing performance against the No. 2 seeds.  Noah Canovas  et  Maria rodriguez .

Despite a battle lasting nearly three sets, Bahurel and Val Lopez were defeated.  6/7 7/6 6/4 , nevertheless confirming their ability to compete with players of the very highest international level.

Blanqué and Joris confirm in Frascati

Au  FIP Bronze from Frascati ,  Bastien Blanqué  et  Maxime Joris , seeded No. 5, continue their run without conceding a single set.

The French dominated the Italians.  Leonardo Abbate  et  Gabriele De Angelis   6 / 1 6 / 4  to reach the quarter-finals.

They will now face the Spanish.  Hugo serrano  (337e) and  Martin Martinez  (474th), with the ambition of continuing their journey towards the final four.

Vives and Guy de Chamisso are still in the race

Au  Jersey FIP Silver ,  Manuel Vives  et  Olivier Guy de Chamisso The eighth-seeded team secured their place in the quarterfinals with a controlled victory against the Spanish qualifiers.  Jordi Escriva  et  Ivan Iturbe  ( 6 / 1 6 / 2 ).

Their next challenge could be significant as they will face the number 1 seed.  Gonzalo Rubio  (43th) /  Andres Fernandez Lancha  (62e).

Sireix continues the adventure, Mansart/Srigant stop

Still in Jersey,  Camille Sireix  and the Dutch  Tess de Vocht  have perfectly negotiated their entry into the competition by dominating  Nora Leinus  et  Abigail Tordoff   6 / 3 6 / 2 .

The challenge will be considerably greater in the quarter-finals, where they will face the No. 2 seeds.  Lucia Martinez placeholder image  (38e) and  Martha Navarro  (67e).

However, the adventure ends in the round of 16 for  Clara Mansart  et  Juliette Sirgant , defeated by the British  Alice Keddie  et  Victoria Nicholas  despite winning the first set ( 6/2 3/6 0/6 ).
