The elimination of  Javi Garrido  et  Lucas Bergamini  from the round of 32 of the  London P1  could well leave its mark. Beaten by  Juan Cruz Belluati  et  Ignatius Piotto  on the score of  3/6 6/4 6/1 The two men have now achieved another disappointing result on the circuit.  Premier Padel .

As the weeks went by, one question kept coming up with increasing insistence:  Has the Garrido/Bergamini partnership come to an end? 

A promising start to the season…

Yet, everything had started off well.

The pair had launched their season with  three consecutive quarter-finals  à  Riyadh ,  Gijón  et  Newgiza suggesting that she could quickly establish herself among the best on the circuit.

The two players seemed to find their rhythm and the results followed.

… then a long series of disappointments

Since then, the dynamic has completely reversed.

With the exception of one  quarter-final at the Italy Major Garrido and Bergamini have not managed to progress beyond the round of 32 in tournaments.  Premier Padel .

Indeed, they won the  FIP Gold of Abidjan  last June, but this success is not enough to mask the difficulties encountered on the main circuit.

For a pair of this caliber, consistently being eliminated in the early rounds of major tournaments is far from the objectives set at the beginning of the season.

A worrying defeat in London

Two players capable of much better

This situation is all the more surprising given that both players have already proven their worth at the highest level.

 Lucas Bergamini  has also come off several excellent results obtained last season alongside  Paquito Navarro , with many  semi-finals  and even one  final  on Premier Padel.

For its part,  Javi Garrido  He too has already played in several semi-finals and finals during his career. His potential is undeniable.

Individually, their level is beyond question.

Is a separation becoming increasingly credible?

The problem now seems to stem more from the association than from the players themselves.

The automatic processes are struggling to take hold, confidence seems to be eroding over the weeks and the results are no longer following.

We know that  Garrido  et  Bergamini  They maintain an excellent relationship off the field. But at the highest level, friendship is not enough.

In professional padel, results are the primary factor in dictating choices.

And after this latest elimination in the round of 32 of the  London P1 It's hard not to wonder about the future of this pair. A breakup in the coming weeks now seems an increasingly likely possibility.
