On world number 1, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, validate their ticket for the final of the Germany P2 after a victory in two close sets against Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo (TS5) : 6/4 7/5.

A first set controlled despite the pressure

From the start of the match at 1/1, Triay and Brea found the gap and broke. Afterwards, they held their serve firmly, despite the pressure from their opponents, and concluded the set 6/4.

Ortega and Icardo push, but crack in the end

In the second act, the scenario is similar. The number 1s escape 4/2, but are surprised by the strong defense of Ortega and Icardo, who come back to 4/4 then 5/5. While we thought we were witnessing a tie-break, Triay and Brea raise their voice again and force their rivals to give in at the perfect moment to win 7/5.

The aggression of the number 1 makes the difference

The statistics clearly illustrate this offensive superiority: 65 winning shots against only 28 for Ortega / Icardo. Gemma and Delfi commit 39 unforced errors (against 21), but their aggression pays off, notably thanks to an imperial Triay. Ortega and Icardo get 10 break points, but the number 1s knew how to tighten up the game in key moments.

An expected final

With this success, Triay and Brea reach their 12th season finale, the 4th consecutive. They will try to get a 8th title in 2025, It front of world number 2, Josemaría and Sánchez, who won earlier in the day against Araujo/Ustero. A match that we had not seen since the Tarragona P1 and which promises a new battle at the top of women's padel.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
