Le Germany Premier Padel P2 in Düsseldorf offers a highly anticipated semi-final this Saturday with a clash between the world n°1 Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea, and the pair Marta Ortega as Tamara Icardo, currently on the rise.

Triay and Brea, the unstoppable machine

Since taking over the world rankings during the P1 of Tarragona in July 2025Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea appear untouchable. Both players have won all three Majors this year (Qatar, Italy, and Paris) and are guaranteed to retain their No. 1 spots until the end of the European Tour (Dusseldorf–Rotterdam–Milan), regardless of their results in Germany.

The Spanish-Argentine pair are playing their 12th season finale, 4th consecutive, with in sight a 8th title in 2025. Triay could reach its 27th final on the circuit Premier Padel (already 14 titles), while Brea aims for her 24rd final, also with 14 trophies to his name.

Their journey to Düsseldorf has been expeditious so far:

  • 1/8: victory 6/1 6/0 against Marchetti/Martínez
  • 1/4: victory 6/2 6/1 against Guinart/Virseda
In only 1 hour 47 minutes spent on the court, they confirmed their status as favorites.

Ortega and Icardo, the beautiful dynamic

Opposite, Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo are undoubtedly going through their best moment since their association began at the end of June in Valladolid. Finalists of the Major of Paris Two weeks ago (beaten by… Triay and Brea), they find themselves back at world number 1 with the ambition of taking their revenge.

The Spanish pair are playing their 3rd semi-final of the season, 2th consecutive.

  • Marta Ortega (#8), former world number 1, already has 3 titles on the circuit Premier Padel (Italy Major 2023, Genoa P2 and New Giza P2 2024). She will play for a 11th career final, the 3rd in 2025 (Cancún P2 with Araújo, Málaga P1 and Major de Paris with Icardo).
  • Tamara Icardo (#10), now established in the top 10, remains in search of a first title on the circuit. Finalist of the Paris Major, she could reach her 4th final of Premier Padel after Puerto Cabello P2 2024, Málaga P1 and Paris Major 2025.

Their run in Düsseldorf was more intense than that of the number 1s:

  • 1/8: victory 6/2 6/3 against Barrera/Caparrós
  • 1/4: victory 3/6 6/4 6/4 against Fernández/González
With already more than 4 hours spent on the court, Ortega and Icardo arrive exhausted but full of confidence.

An already classic duel

Le The head-to-head score is 2-0 in favor of Triay/Brea, victorious in the quarter-finals in Tarragona and then in the final of the Paris Major. It remains to be seen whether Ortega and Icardo will manage to reverse the trend and prevent the Triay-Brea machine from heading towards another final.

Remember that the matches take place on the Youtube page of Premier Padel.
