The first round of the Italy Major Premier Padel 2026  has already delivered its share of surprises. In Rome, the qualifying pair made up of Albert Roglán and Manu Aragón  achieved one of the day's feats by eliminating them right from the start of the competition  Sanyo Gutiérrez , former world number 1, partnered for the occasion with  Maxi Sanchez Blasco .

The Spanish team won in two sets.  7 / 6 6 / 3 , thus securing their place in the round of 32 of the first Major of the season.

A symbolic victory for Roglán

Beyond the sporting achievement, this success has a special significance for Albert Roglán. The Catalan player has secured his very first victory in a main draw of the circuit. Premier Padel.

Having been beaten several times on the verge of the main draws in recent seasons, Roglán takes an important step forward against one of the players who have marked the recent history of world padel.

Sanyo Gutiérrez's premature exit was not the only blow for the Argentine representatives.
