From Roland-Garros to the Palais des Sports de Gerland, a similar cry has begun to accompany Jesús Moya's exploits: "Jesús, Jesús!" Alongside Thomas Leygue, the Spaniard has been racking up impressive performances on French soil and has gradually forged a genuine connection with the public. After their monumental victory against Aimar Goñi and Edu Alonso at the FIP Platinum Lyon, Moya no longer hid his special attachment to France: buoyed by the crowds, he admits to feeling right at home there.

From Roland-Garros to Lyon, the public has embraced Moya

The story had truly begun a few weeks earlier at  Paris Major . Partnered with Thomas Leygue, Jesús Moya had discovered the special atmosphere of Roland-Garros when a Frenchman starts to thrill the public.

But in the Parisian stands, the cheers were soon no longer solely directed at Leygue. As the matches progressed, the  "Jesus, Jesus!"  They too descend from the aisles.

A few weeks later, the same scene at  Gerland Sports Palace In Lyon, Moya is now almost considered a home player. Every important point, every display of passion, and every highlight from the Franco-Spanish pairing strengthens this connection even further.

And the Spaniard felt it perfectly.

"When they support you so much and give you so much energy, I feel right at home."

"I would always like to play here in France."

After the completely crazy victory against  Aimar Goñi / Edu Alonso , won  6/7 7/6 7/6 Moya was still carried away by emotion. More than the result, he mainly wanted to talk about this special relationship he is building with the French public.

"For me, playing in France again is a pleasure. I would always like to play here in France."

A strong statement for a Spanish player who is obviously used to playing in his own country. Moya loves Spain, he himself says so, but the energy he is currently receiving in France gives him a special feeling.

To the point of explaining that he now feels at home there.  like at home supported by an audience that seems to have definitively embraced Thomas Leygue's partner.

Performances that created this love story

This relationship is obviously no accident. Since the beginning of September, Moya and Leygue have been offering French fans matches of very high intensity.

After their adventure at  Paris Major The two men did it again in Lyon. Facing Goñi, ranked 32nd in the world, and Alonso, ranked 17th, they pushed their limits once more after three tie-breaks.

For Moya, this victory also symbolizes the progress of their association.

"I'm very proud. We've been a very good team since day one. With this victory, I think we're starting to win these kinds of matches."

The Spaniard is convinced of the work done with Leygue and their ability to now go after matches that previously might have eluded them.

Moya no longer wants to leave France

On the track, Moya doesn't hold back. He lives every exchange, communicates extensively with Leygue, and shares his emotions with the stands. A temperament that perfectly matches the atmosphere he experienced in Paris and then in Lyon.

And the public responds in kind.  "Jesus, Jesus!"  gradually became one of the refrains accompanying the matches of the Franco-Spanish pair in France.

Moya, for his part, is eager to continue the story. After Roland-Garros and now Gerland, his words ultimately sum up quite well the relationship that is developing:

"I would always like to play here in France."

Jesús Moya fell in love with France.  And apparently, France is also falling in love with Jesus.
