Munich will host a unique event this Saturday, October 18, 2025: the first edition of the “Promi Padel WM – Wer holt den PadelCity Cup?”, broadcast live on ProSieben et JoynFor the first time, sixteen German celebrities will compete in teams of two on the slopes of the brand new SAP Garden, transformed for the occasion into a real padel arena.
And it is the 100% padel manufacturer, the French company which will be the official track of this event.
A star-studded cast to popularize padel
The tournament will bring together an impressive line-up of personalities from sports, media, and entertainment. Participants include several German football figures as Mats Hummels, Christoph Kramer, Marcell Jansen or, Mario Gomez. The tennis player Mischa Zverev will also be there, just like Elias Becker, son of the legend Boris Becker.
The world of entertainment will be represented by actress Lena Gercke, the actor Uwe Ochsenknecht, presenter Christian Düren, YouTuber Dagi Bee, content creator Younes Zarou, stylist and influencer Karo Kauer, or Dominik Stuckmann, known for his stint on “The Bachelor”.
By their side, Daniel Boschmann, host of “Frühstücksfernsehen”, and Stephan Gerick, Ironman athlete, will complete an eclectic and promising picture.
A sports and television show
The competition will be hosted by Steven Gatjen et Chris Tall, two essential figures of German television entertainment. With the formula in mixed or male duos, the event promises an atmosphere that is both competitive and relaxed, in a spirit of fair play and discovery of padel.

The “Promi Padel WM” is part of the dynamics of rapid growth of padel in Germany, a sport that is attracting more and more fans and investors. By combining spectacle, competition and celebrities, this event could well mark a key step in the media coverage of padel across the Rhine.
