This is a first in several seasons : No French players will be present on the 2026 FIP Australian tour. This absence is striking, as this early-season tour had often been kind to the French team and represented a strategic opportunity to accumulate valuable points as early as January.

A tour historically favorable to the French

In recent years, several French people had made the courageous but rewarding choice of crossing the globe to launch their season in Australia.

En 2024, Manuel Vivès and Julien Seurin had even achieved a I doublé, by winning the two tournaments of the tour.

En 2025France was still well represented, notably with the pairs Julien Seurin / Philemon Raichman et Pierre Vincent / Nicolas Rouanet chez les hommes.
In the ladies, Camille Sireix / Marie-Amélie Dardaine had also made the trip. If the results had been below expectationsthe approach remained consistent within a seasonal construction logic.

Why Australia is often a good bet

The Australian tour has a clear advantage:

  • Few players make the effort to travel,
  • le intermediate level is often more accessible,
  • many FIP points earned carry significant weight from the start of the year.

An ideal context to launch their season, gain confidence, and quickly secure points in the standings. This is precisely what had motivated the French in previous seasons.

In 2026, no Frenchman will be at the starting line.

Despite these factors, No French people chose to make the trip this time.. A deliberate choice, which is also explained by a busy schedule in Europe and a priority given to national competitions at the beginning of the year.

In return, The first P2000 of the season is shaping up to be XXLwith almost all the top French players involved in the international circuit present. A density rarely seen on a P2000, which promises a very high level.

A very strong international field nonetheless.

Even without major French players, the 2026 Australian tour is still very interesting. Several top international pairs have confirmed their attendance:

  • Sten Richters / Simone Cremona,
  • Guillem Figuerola Santiago / Roberto Belmont Pastor
  • Luis Oliver Artigas / Diego Arredondo Garcia

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
