Through two videos recently published on his social media, NOX has chosen to highlight one of the most iconic figures in the modern history of padel: Miguel LampertiMore than just a tribute, these images tell the story of a rare journey, that of a player who has spanned generations, marked several eras and profoundly influenced the culture of international padel.
Born on November 11, 1978, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, Miguel Lamperti is preparing to play his final season on the professional circuit in 2026, thus concluding nearly two decades at the highest level. An exceptional longevity in a sport that has become increasingly demanding, both physically and tactically.
An early start, a total passion
Lamperti discovered padel at the age of 12, developing an almost obsessive relationship with the game very early on. He spent hours training alone, especially against the wall, a foundational exercise that shaped his ball touch, his sense of the game and his incredible creativity.
At 16, he competed in his first tournaments, training up to ten hours a day, while also participating in numerous competitions with his partner at the time. Matías Díaz.
His journey, however, was not straightforward. A serious car accident temporarily sidelined him from the track, followed shortly after by the death of his mother, a major personal tragedy. These events could have shattered a budding career, but instead forged the character of an exceptional competitor.
Number 1 in Argentina, then a global benchmark
In 2006, Miguel Lamperti reached the rank of Argentina's number 1, a decisive turning point. This period also marked his arrival in Spain and his integration into the Padel Per tour, ancestor of World Padel Tour.
AlongsideAlejandro Lasaigues then Matías Díaz, he established himself permanently in the world's Top 5, regularly competing with the dominant pairs of the time.
The duels against the legendary Juan Martín Díaz / Fernando Belasteguínor even against Hernán Auguste et Sebastián Nerone, become classics of the circuit.
The 2009 season, which ended with a third-place world ranking, symbolizes this consistency at the highest level.
Titles, finals and consistency at the top
Between 2008 and 2012, Lamperti won seven major titles on the circuit Padel Pro Tour, notably in Salamanca, Granada, La Coruña, Mar del Plata, Palma de Mallorca, Mendoza and Valencia.
To this are added 27 endings contested on the biggest international stages, often against the best pairs in the history of padel.
Although some have occasionally criticized him for a lack of consistency in the final, his influence on the game, his spectacular style and his charisma have far exceeded the simple reading of his record.
World champion and key figure in the Argentinian national team
One of the most significant moments of his career came in 2016, during the Padel World Championships in Portugal. Associated with Christian GutierrezMiguel Lamperti wins the decisive point for Argentina against Álvaro Cepero / Juan Lebrón (6/4 – 6/4).
A symbolic success that definitively inscribes his name in the history of Argentinian padel.
A rare ability to transcend generations
The rest of his career illustrates a quality that has become rare: constant adaptation. Lamperti moved from one partner to another without ever losing his competitive edge. Maxi Grabiel, Juani Mieres, Luciano Capra, Jon sanz, Juan Cruz Belluati, And even Arturo Coello in 2021, when he was only 19 years old.
A remarkable intergenerational duo, capable of beating pairs like Paquito Navarro / Martin Di Nenno ou Agustín Tapia / Pablo Lima.
This ability to support the new generation while remaining competitive contributes to its unique image on the circuit.
NOX, an inseparable relationship
It's difficult to talk about Miguel Lamperti without mentioning NOX. Since 2008-2009, the Spanish brand has supported the Argentinian player through every stage of his career. The range ML10 has become iconic, to the point of embodying a true philosophy of gaming: control, toucher, tactical intelligence.
In recently published videos, Lamperti looks back emotionally on this long-term relationship, evoking a before and after in his career, but also the possibility, thanks to this partnership, of fully living from the sport he has always loved.
2026, the final season
Currently ranked 88th in the world, Miguel Lamperti will no longer play with Juan Ignacio De Pascual. According to Planet Padel, an Argentinian page known for its reliability, Alberto Garcia Trabanco could be the Argentinian's last partner.
Originally from Gijón, standing 1,86 m tall, born on September 26, 2005, the young Spaniard is now aged 19 yearsEven though experience shows that evolving with the same partner for an entire season has become rare, this association could symbolize a final passing of the torch.
This will be his final professional season in 2026. A final year announced as a living tribute to a player who has never ceased to inspire, on and off the slopes.
Because beyond the titles and statistics, Miguel Lamperti will be remembered as one of the most charismatic and beloved players in world padel, a natural ambassador for the game, whose legacy will continue to resonate long after his last smash.
