The Newgiza Premier Padel P2 enters its decisive phase this Friday, April 17th, with the semi-finals of the Egyptian tournament.  After a week marked by a few surprises in the men's competition and a generally respected hierarchy in the women's, four top-level matches await spectators on the center court.  Khufu Between season rivalries, title ambitions and final dances for some pairs, the day promises a great show.

Sánchez / Ustero vs González / Josemaría: the beautiful one

The first women's semi-final will pit  Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero  à  Bea González and Paula Josemaría  From  9:30 .

This duel has become one of the highlights of the early season. The two pairs meet again for the  third time in 2026 , with a perfectly balanced balance sheet so far.

The first to establish themselves this year had been  Sánchez and Ustero , victorious in the semi-final of the  P2 of Gijón  after a three-set battle. But the rematch was not long in coming:  “la Perla” Bea González and “la Dynamita” Paula Josemaría  gained the upper hand during the  Miami P1 semi-final , in a match lasting more than two and a half hours.

Beyond the sporting aspect, the match remains special because  Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría Longtime partners and dominant figures on the circuit, they now find themselves face to face. This new round will determine the tournament's first finalist.

Brea / Triay faces the Ortega / Calvo challenge

In the second women's semi-final,  Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea  continue their impressive consistency. The Spanish-Argentine pair reaches  the final of each tournament played this season , confirming its status as a benchmark in the circuit.

They will face  Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo , seeded No. 6 and conquerors of  Sofia Araújo and Claudia Fernández  in the quarter-finals.

The two pairs have already crossed paths.  twice this season in  Riyadh  then  Gijon , with two victories for  Triay and Brea If these matches had been played, the world number ones would once again be the favorites. A victory for Ortega and Calvo would be a huge upset.

Tello and Alonso want to prolong their last dance

In the men's competition, the first semi-final will pit...  Juan Tello and Edu Alonso  à  Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas .

The world number twos are continuing their solid run in Egypt. Apart from a scare in the round of 16, where they dropped a set to  Rubio and Ruiz ,  Galan and Chingotto  have generally controlled their tournament.

Opposite,  Nieto and Sanz  They're having a very clean week:  no sets lost since the start of the tournament .

The two teams had already faced each other this season at  P1 of Riyadh.  Despite winning the first set,  Nieto and Sanz  had finally given in to  “Chingalan” A rematch is therefore on the agenda on the central track.
