Le P1000 UrbanPadel Le Mans has definitively shifted into another dimension after the elimination of the top two seeds, Forichon / Deknuydt et Marie / Forcin .
A scenario that opened the door to new ambitions and offered an unprecedented final four.
Ultimately, it's the seeds 4 and 5 who managed to stand out and reach the final:
Adrien Maigret / Baptiste Grodenic (TS4) will face Sami Iznasni / Alexandre Boilevin (TS5) for the title.
Maigret/Grodenic too strong for De Galbert/Fantou
In the first semi-final, Adrien Maigret and Baptiste Grodenic delivered a controlled performance against by Galbert / Fantou .
From the outset, the TS4 pair sets the pace:
Maigret's side of the construction, Grodenic's presence on the right to lock down and allow Maigret to launch an offensive.
The pressure is constant and their opponents are struggling to find solutions, just like in the quarter-finals.
The second set saw a slight reaction from De Galbert / Fantou, but the overall picture remained the same:
Many mistakes caused, few winning strategies.
Clear victory 6/3 6/2 , with real tactical mastery.
Iznasni and Boilevin emerge victorious from a huge battle
The other semi-final offered the match of the tournament between
Iznasni / Boilevin et Boutel / Perez Le Tiec .
A very balanced duel, with two opposing profiles:
Structured and compact play on one side, offensive power on the other.
At 4/4 in the second set, the offensive pressure from Iznasni / Boilevin forces opponent errors and allows them to make the decisive break.
The third set is breathless: breaks exchanged, opportunities missed, points given away in a spirit of fair play on both sides.
At 5/4, Boutel / Perez Le Tiec break back and try to win it all back, but Iznasni / Boilevin remain more solid in the tie-breaker , that they win 7-3 on their third match point.
A victory of willpower after a big arm wrestle .
An open and unprecedented final
After the fall of the favorites, the final will therefore pit two pairs brimming with confidence against each other:
Maigret / Grodenic (TS4)
Iznasni / Boilevin (TS5)
The final can be followed live on Padel Mag TV from 14:15 a.m.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
