The Castagnary project, focused on padel in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, is finally about to come to fruition. Although it has undergone radical changes compared to the initial proposal of the UCPA, it seems that a consensus has been reached for a more modest but more reliable project.

.@jeromeloriau former deputy for sports highlights in particular in CA the investments successively projected for the Square TEP Castagnary: 810.000 euros then 1,5 M EUR by the Ucpa for padel, 310.000 by Padel 15 for 2 padel courts in particular https://t.co/4CNk7cltQw
Below, part of the content of the deliberation of the town hall of Paris on this project
“Supported by two residents of the 15th arrondissement, the sports project consists of developing the discipline of padel by setting up two courts covered with an aluminum structure supporting a stretched canvas. These courts will be open to as many people as possible, in particular thanks to:
- Accessibility for people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities.
- The application of attractive rates compared to those practiced in Île-de-France.
The project also includes the development of an open offer in the Georges Brassens district, with in particular the provision of land to nearby schools, as well as initiations intended for senior citizens or directed by local associations. The candidate also offers free outdoor games such as petanque, spikeball and table tennis, in order to anchor the project in neighborhood life.
The investment program, amounting to 310 euros excluding taxes, amortized over 000 years, is mainly devoted to the development of the padel courts, in particular by equipping them with panels that limit the resonance of the balls and noise pollution as much as possible. It also includes the renovation of the existing building.
The proposed fee mechanism includes a fixed part, the amount of which varies over time to take into account the duration of the works and the growth of the activity, as well as a variable part corresponding to 4% of the amount of revenue generated. According to the provisional business plan submitted by the candidate, this results in a total amount of 326 euros for the entire contract.”
