The season Premier Padel 2026 is about to start with the Riyadh P1But to see the best padel in the world in Spain, the wait will be short. 2 to 8 March, Gijón Premier Padel P2 will invest the Palacio de Deportes de La Guía – President Adolfo Suárezwith an announcement that changes everything compared to last year: There will be no boycott.
best players in the world will be present in Asturias, led by Arturo Coello / Agustín Tapia, world number one, and Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto, the number two pair on the circuit.
A radically different context from 2025
The 2025 edition left a bitter taste. Gijón, like Cancún, suffered from the massive absence of Top 100, a consequence of a protest movement that had deprived the public of the circuit's big stars.
A year later, the landscape has completely changed. After several months of internal discussions and adjustments, Premier Padel has regained a form of stabilityand the 2026 season starts in a much more peaceful climate.
The strong signal came very early: the registration of Coello and TapiaJust a few hours after entries opened. A clear message sent to the circuit… and to the public.
Coello–Tapia and Galán–Chingotto, the announced headliners
world number one will arrive in Gijón with their status as the dominant pair and that of big favorites to the title. The Asturian tournament will be an important step for them before the Valencia P1Indeed, two new tournaments that they must add to their list of titles.
In the wake, Galan and Chingotto They too have confirmed their participation, ensuring an exceptional level of play in the men's draw. The prospect of seeing the two best pairs in the world makes Gijón P2 an already unmissable date on the calendar.
A very strong male field is expected
Beyond the two leading players on the circuit, the organizers expect a particularly strong men's field, with the anticipated presence of all the other top pairs such as Lebrón / Augsburger, Stupaczuk / Yanguas, Di Nenno / Momo González, Paquito Navarro / Fran Guerrero or, Coki Nieto / Jon Sanz.
A female portrait under high tension
For the women, registrations from the top pairs are expected in the coming days, in a context of a complete reshuffling of the fight for the number one spot.
Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea will defend their leadership against a new wave of highly anticipated projects: Bea González / Paula Josemaría, Ari Sánchez / Andrea Ustero, Sofía Araújo / Claudia Fernández or, Martina Calvo / Marta Ortega.
Le Gijón Premier Padel P2 will thus be the first opportunity to see the new associations of 2026 in Spain, an element that has already greatly stimulated public and media interest.
A meeting rescheduled
After a tense 2025 edition, Gijón finally gets back to the tournament it was waiting for Top-level competition, stars, and a real sporting event. Everything is in place to make this Premier Padel P2 one of the first major highlights of the 2026 season.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
