A major turning point is in store for the sports offerings of the Haut-Doubs region. According to information published by La Presse du DoubsThe city of Pontarlier will open in the fall 2026 a whole new indoor multi-sports complex christened The Multiplex, located in the Gravilliers business park. With more than 4 000 m² Dedicated to racket sports, indoor leisure and corporate activities, this future facility could become one of the most comprehensive sports hubs in eastern France.

The Multiplex will offer a particularly wide range of activities, designed to meet the strong demand for indoor sports:
- 5 padel courts
- 3 badminton courts
- 2 squash courts
- ping-pong tables
- areas dedicated to pickleball
- 4 indoor pétanque courts
- 2 golf simulators
With this diversity, Pontarlier will join the list of French cities that are banking on the next generation multi-sports complexes, suitable for both regular and occasional players. Some qualified coaches will be present for technical support and progression.
A place designed for businesses and families
Beyond the sports facilities, the Multiplex will offer genuine living spaces to attract a wide audience:

- a snack for quick breaks,
- a brasserie with over 100 seats with terrace

This comprehensive approach — sports, catering, family leisure and corporate events — aligns with current trends that are transforming indoor complexes into true destinations.
A project that will be a major boost to the local economy
Le The building permit application is currently being processed. If the deadlines are met, work should begin before the end of the year, with an opening planned for autumn 2026.
The launch of the Multiplex will lead to the creation ofabout thirty jobs, which constitutes an important economic lever for the Pontissalien basin.
Why is this project strategic for Pontarlier?
Until now, the city lacked a facility dedicated to adult sports and leisure activities, particularly since the closure of Komplex, which was replaced by 10 55. With the arrival of Multiplex, Pontarlier is not only catching up, but also positioning itself as a regional attraction for:
- practitioners of paddlesport is booming in France.
- for those who enjoy indoor sports all year round,
- companies looking for a versatile venue for events,
- families looking for varied indoor activities.
