The men's circuit bracket Premier Padel The tournament delivered its first surprises as early as the round of 32. Several expected pairs fell prematurely, in a tournament marked by ever-increasing depth… and by particularly inspired qualifiers.
Collado and Hernández bring down González / Di Nenno
This is one of the biggest surprises of the early stages of the tournament. The pair Gonzalo Collado / Pablo Hernández imposed itself against Momo González / Martín Di Nenno , yet they are used to the final stages.
With a victory in two close sets (7/6 7/5), they were able to make the difference in the key moments to achieve a benchmark success.
Campagnolo/Bautista defeat the 5th seed
Another major surprise: the heavy defeat of Sanz / Nieto , seeded 5.
Opposed to Lucas Campagnolo / Jairo Bautista They lost decisively 6/2 6/0. A one-sided match, marked by the total domination of Campagnolo and Bautista.
Ruiz / Esbri after a tough fight
In a different vein, the pair Ruiz / Esbri had to fight hard to overcome LibaaK / Chozas .
Trailing after the first set, they managed to turn the situation around to win in three sets (3/6 6/1 7/6), at the end of an intense and hard-fought match.
The qualifiers are creating a sensation
But the strongest trend at the start of this tournament undoubtedly comes from the players who came through the qualifiers, who are performing particularly well.
The pair Goenaga / Goñi , who came through qualifying, offered herself Leal / Cepero at the end of a close match (7/6 5/7 6/4), confirming their ability to compete with higher ranked pairs.
In the same vein, Arce / Lijo , who also came through qualifying, dominated Diestro / Fernández Lancha in two sets (6/4 6/2), continuing their good run.
