Gemma Triay et Delfi Brea, world number 1, once again won the duel against Ariana Sánchez et Paula Josemaría (n°2), on the score of 6/2 3/6 6/4, in the final of Rotterdam P1A victory with a lot of resilience, we saw them in the hard times but they are always the ones who end up winning.
A great start from the number 1s
From the start, Triay and Brea set their pace. Delfi Brea, very inspired, dictates the game and finds the spaces. The Spanish Jose Maria et Sánchez suffer, unable to find the fault in the face of the accuracy and intensity of the opposing duo. The first set is over 6/2.
The reaction of Sánchez and Josemaría
But the world number 2 didn't intend to give up so quickly. After conceding a break early in the second set, they woke up. Ariana Sánchez considerably raises the tone in its diagonal, becoming the true metronome of the exchange. Paula Josemaría, she multiplies the winning shots with her left paw.
The roles are reversed: Brea and Triay retreat, lose their lucidity and let the set slip away. 6/3At that moment, Sánchez and Josemaría seemed to have regained the confidence and energy they had been lacking since the beginning of the season. We see them smiling and very motivated.
A third set under tension
The last act reflects this rivalry: intense and balancedTriay and Brea break early, but are quickly caught. The two teams trade blows, the rallies lengthen, and the atmosphere heats up.
À 5/4, while Sánchez and Josemaría serve to put the ball back together, Brea and Triay make the decisive break. Final score: 6/2 3/6 6/4.

The effectiveness of champions
Without shining as much as during their best weeks, the world number 1 confirm their superiority. They win their third consecutive title after Paris et Düsseldorf, ninth of the 2025 season, and the 15th set.
Triay now equals Ale Salazar with 52 career titles, while the Spanish-Argentine pair is approaching a record: 10 titles in the same season en Premier Padel.
Sánchez and Josemaría, stopped again
Opposite, the 2024 champions in Rotterdam tried everything. Dominated in the first set, they showed a fighting face and found their best form, but it was not enough. Their black series against Triay and Brea continues: they have beaten them only once in seven meetings this season (6-1).
One thing is certain: this rivalry between Triay / Brea et Sanchez / Josemaria continues to rock the world of padel. And as long as the world's No. 1s maintain their composure in key moments, the hierarchy is unlikely to change anytime soon.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
