Ari Sánchez / Andrea Ustero  hit very hard in the semi-final of the  Rotterdam P2 Facing the world's number ones  Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea The Spanish pair won with authority.  6 / 2 6 / 3  in only  1:30 .

A true demonstration, driven by a  Ari Sánchez at his best  and a very aggressive Andrea Ustero despite rather slow playing conditions.

A solid Ari Sánchez

Ari Sánchez delivered a great performance.

Very accurate in her choices, aggressive when necessary and always able to find the right zone, she completely dictated part of the exchanges.

Statistics confirm this impression.

Sánchez / Ustero finish with  37 winning moves , against only  27  for Triay / Brea.

They also attacked much more with the smash, with  22 winning smashes against 11  for the world's number 1.

And above all, they were formidable on break points:  7 converted out of 10 , against only  On 3 7  for Triay / Brea.

Ustero is doing very badly despite the slow conditions

By his side,  Andrea Ustero  will also have been very impressive.

In conditions where the ball came out less easily, she still managed to make a big difference at the net and the smash.

His ability to take the ball early and accelerate constantly put Triay/Brea under pressure.

She also held her diagonal very well, without really offering any respite.

Triay / Brea pass by

On the other side, the world number 1 players never really found their rhythm.

Too many mistakes, too little offensive impact and above all a difficulty in hurting the opposition with the first shots.

Triay/Brea finish with  27 unforced errors , against  23  for Sánchez / Ustero.

But most importantly, they never really managed to take control of the match.

The first set goes by quickly.  6/2 and the second round follows almost the same trend.

The same scenario played out in the second set.

In the second set, Sánchez / Ustero maintained the same intensity.

They continue to attack, quickly gain the advantage and leave almost no opportunity for their opponents.

Triay / Brea try to come back, but the Spanish pair remain too solid.

6/3 and on to the final

Ari Sánchez doesn't even realize the match is over

A rather funny little scene at the end of the match.

After match point,  Ari Sánchez returns to his seat on the bench , clearly convinced that the game was not yet over.

It took him a few seconds to realize that the match was definitely over.

A lighthearted moment after an extremely serious performance.

Another final after Paris

This victory confirms the very positive momentum of Sánchez / Ustero.

After their journey to the title at  Paris Major They find themselves in another final on the circuit.

And this time, they succeed after dominating the world's number 1 players with great authority.

Reunion with Josemaría / González

In the final, Sánchez / Ustero will find  Paula Josemaría / Bea González .

The world number 2s secured a victory earlier against  Claudia Fernández / Martina Calvo ,  6 / 3 6 / 4 .

They too delivered a very solid performance, especially with a  Paula Josemaría very aggressive  and Bea González was very precise in her changes of pace.

Fernández / Calvo had managed to return from  1/4 to 4/4  in the second set, but Josemaría / González had immediately broken back before closing it out.

We will therefore have a final between the  world number 2  and the pair that just knocked off the number 1s.

And given the level shown by Sánchez / Ustero today, the clash promises to be a lot.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
