Long considered incompatible with Singapore’s ultra-dense real estate model, padel is nevertheless experiencing a spectacular acceleration there.

In three years, the island state has gone from a few isolated plots of land to 15 operational clubs, and 3 to 4 new sites are already announced. A trajectory that places Singapore among the most dynamic hubs of Asian padel.

An unexpected boom in a market where square meters are worth their weight in gold.

In Singapore, opening a sports club is often quite an achievement:

  • land among the most expensive in the world
  • very strict planning procedures
  • scarcity of available spaces
  • rents up to 5 to 10 times higher than those in European cities.

In this context, the emergence of 15 clubs in three years is a textbook case.
The average price there is approximately 35 Singapore dollars (€23) for 90 minutes(mostly outdoors)

According to Play Padel SingaporeSeveral new sites will open in the coming months, a sign that demand still far exceeds supply.

“When I arrived in Singapore, there was practically no land. When the first ones opened, you had to book two weeks in advance,” he explains Patrick Carana, an expatriate living with his family.

This growth is driven by:

  • a very international community
  • the rise of corporate clubs,
  • a premium positioning consistent with local standards.

A premium market by nature

Unlike Europe, Singapore is clearly positioning itself according to a logic luxury vehicles services :

  • integrated infrastructure (lounge, catering, advanced coaching),
  • clubs located in private sports complexes,
  • High prices but adapted to local purchasing power.

The model is similar to that observed in the United States:
Limited land, high demand, high prices, rapid growth.

While we like to talk about foreign countries, premium complexes in France are also in vogue with new facilities and sometimes buildings completely renovated or built for padel.

An already structured network

The 15 clubs do not operate as isolated entities:

  • active community
  • regular events,

Important point: many pitches remain outdoors; rain and humidity sometimes complicate playing conditions.

A risk of saturation? Not yet.

At this stage:

  • Occupancy rates remain high,
  • The new clubs are filling up quickly.
  • Demand from expatriates and visitors continues to increase.

Tournament side: Asia Pacific Padel The tower is taking shape

THEAsia-Pacific Padel Tower (APPT) does not welcome no amateur players.
It's about only from a professional circuit, even if some stages take place in countries where padel is still emerging.

Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City… The tour makes numerous stops, offering new exposure throughout the region

APPT attracts a growing number of experienced players (with a top 5 predominantly Spanish), higher prize money and wider broadcasting.

Singapore, the laboratory of premium padel

Singapore ticks all the boxes for a pilot market:

  • high purchasing power,
  • international audience
  • premium-oriented model
  • continuous growth
  • strong regional visibility.

What seemed impossible three years ago has become one of the most successful examples of the development of padel outside Europe.
And the story is only just beginning.

I discovered the Padel I stumbled into Spain at a campsite. I was instantly hooked; passionate about padel for the past three years, I follow international and regional news with the same excitement as the sport itself.
