Founded in 2010 by Michel Ludwig, Squashbad33/Padel33 has gradually established itself as a structured network of racquet sports clubs in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. The brand is celebrating its 15th anniversary today and continues its expansion with the opening of a new location in Villenave-d'Ornon in 2026, before two other planned locations in 2027.

A network built in stages

Since its launch, the group has opened clubs with complementary configurations:

  • Bordeaux North (2010) : squash, badminton, padel and a bar-restaurant area.
  • Gradignan (2015) squash, padel, badminton and from 2026 a studio Pilates Reformer.
  • Merignac (2018) squash, badminton, padel and a catering service developed in the evening.
  • Bruges (2025) : 9 double padel courts, pickleball/badminton, pizzeria and meeting room.
  • Villenave-d'Ornon (2026) : 13 double padel courts, badminton courts, pickleball, squash and an outdoor beach tennis court.

Each club also has a petanque, a common element across sites to promote conviviality.

A unified offering designed for use

The brand has structured its operations around several tools common to all clubs:

  • un electronic wallet usable across the entire network,
  • a system of unified booking,
  • consistent services,
  • a module of open parts facilitating the search for partners.

This organization allows simplified access to disciplines and an identical experience from one club to another.

Squashbad33/Padel33 represents today:

  • 17 000 m² sports facilities,
  • 42 padel courts,
  • 26 squash courts,
  • 21 badminton/pickleball courts,
  • 65 clients,
  • 35 employees,
  • over 200 events per year,
  • over 50 partner companies.

Un EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE is led by Fabien Grignet, associate managing director.

Steady growth

Turnover:

  • 2024 (3 clubs): €2,7 million excluding VAT
  • 2025 €3,5 million excluding VAT
  • Forecast 2026 €4,25 million excluding VAT
  • Forecast 2027 : €5,5 million excluding VAT, with the ramp-up of Villenave-d'Ornon.

The majority of the results are reinvested in infrastructure, sports offerings and the modernization of clubs.

Directions for the coming years

The group plans to:

  • the opening of Pilates Reformer across all clubs (first room in January 2026),
  • two new locations by 2027,
  • strengthening the B2B offering: team building, seminars, corporate tournaments, sponsorship, Business Club.
