The team of France Men's Seniors bowed 4-1 facing a Ultra-experienced Spain in the final of the European Championships, this Saturday in Valencia. A harsh scoreline but close matches, played with courage and solidarity by exemplary French players throughout the tournament.
Close matches against formidable Spaniards
The final started with a huge fight in +55 years: Jean-Marc Lagloire and Olivier Launo they pushed Pablo Semprun and Luis Menéndez in their entrenchments before giving in to the tie-break of the third set (6/1 3/6 7/6).
In +50 years, Christophe Henry and Frédéric Loriedo were dominated by David Losada and Raul Arias (6 / 2 6 / 0), while Arnaud Clément and Julien Datcharry (+45 years) could not do anything against Aday Santana and Borja Yribarren, former professional players, winners 6 / 0 6 / 0.
The only tricolor point came from the European champions in the +40 age group, Morgan Mannarino and Norman Sanchez, authors of a superb match won 6/7 6/1 7/6 face José Javier Limones and Enric Sanmartí.
Finally, in +35 years, Adrien Maigret and Maxime Forcin, also titled in pairs, gave in 6 / 2 6 / 3 face Ricardo Martinez and Victor Sánchez, sealing the Spanish victory (4-1).
A lost final, but a successful competition
