EPA, European Padel Association is launching its own European Padel Championship from September 23 to 28. However, the same year, the FIP is also organizing its own European Padel Championships in next November.

France is not participating in the event organized by the EPA. She does not wish to be part of the EPA. France wishes to take part only in international competitions organized by the FIP, including the European Championship organized today every two years, alternating with the World Championships.

What seems strange is that the EPA recognizes the body of the FIP (Fédération Internationale de Padel) and say "work under the thumb of the FIP ". Their common goal is "“enable padel to become an Olympic sport in 2028”.

Before coming back to the subject, note that the EPA explains how to work for  padel at the Olympic Games in 2028 and not for 2024...

These are two bodies supposed to work together "for the development of padel“. At the same time, we find two European padel championships on two different dates organized by two different organizations…

Apart from France and Italy, all countries seem to adhere to and follow the EPA. But the FIP also brings together all these countries including France and Italy. Will some nations participate in 2 European Padel Championships?

If France and Italy do not participate in the European Championships of Padel organized by the EPA, of course, it is difficult to estimate that these are real European championships since these are two strong nations of European padel.

Finally for France, whatever happens, the dates of the EPA European Championships correspond to the final stages of the French Padel Championships. The FFT policy is very clear: It is a member of the FIP, which is not the case for the EPA. French players will therefore take part in the European Padel Championships organized by the FIP.
